I have always liked this song penned by Chris Rea, hope you enjoy my version here. "Fool (If You Think It's Over)" is the title of a popular song from 1978 by the British singer-songwriter Chris Rea. Rea also wrote the song, which appears on his 1978 debut album, Whatever Happened to Benny Santini?. Released as a single in 1978, the song originally failed to chart in Rea's home country. It did, however, reach the Top 40 of the American music charts, peaking at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in September 1978. The song also spent three weeks at #1 on the US Billboard adult contemporary chart. When re-released in the UK later in 1978, the song reached #30 on the UK Singles Chart. The song has been covered by a number of other artists. British singer Elkie Brooks released her version of the song in 1982, and it reached #17 on the UK Singles Chart. This version also appeared on the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. German singer Thomas Anders recorded a version of the song as well; this can be found on his 1989 debut album Different. The song served as the theme to the 1990s British sitcom Joking Apart.
